A club is a good way to start on your way to ham radio operating!

Meetings - The Arizona Amateur Radio Club meets on the SECOND THURSDAY of each month at 7:00 P.M. at the American Red Cross Building located at 4747 N 22nd Street in Phoenix, AZ. The building is south of Camelback Rd, just north of Highland Ave., on the east side. You are welcome to attend our meetings even if you are not a member or ham radio operator. For a map to our new location, click HERE.

Field Day, June 22 and 23, 2019 -
The AARC held its 2018 Field Day exercise atop Mingus Mountain at the United Methodist Camp again this year. Everyone had a great time operating and enjoying each other's company - not to mention some great food! Will we be in the same place this year? Watch for more on the AARC's 2019 Field Day effort.

Club Breakfast - The Club Breakfast has been discontinued. Several members gather periodically for breakfast or brunch. Everyone is welcome to join us. Tune in to the net on Thursdays (except the second Thursday of the month) at 7:00 p.m. on 147.06, keep watch on the web site, or come to the meeting for all the latest.

Weekly Net -
The AARC also has a 2-meter net that is held each Thursday evening, except the second Thursday of the month when we have our monthly club meeting.  The net meets at 7:00 P.M. on 147.060 MHz, using the repeater of Lee Walters, W7UXZ.  A PL tone is usually not required for the repeater.  We also have an Echolink connection for the net.  Connect to W7IO-R if you prefer to check in or listen via Echolink.

VE Testing - New Day for Testing -
AARC club holds VE testing for all license classes on the 4th Sunday of the month at 7:00 PM at the American Red Cross Building, 4747 N 22nd Street in Phoenix - the same location as our meetings. Due to Red Cross security restrictions, anyone wishing to take an amateur radio test should call or email Gary Hamman, K7GH, (email: k7gh@arrl.net - phone: 602.996.8148) at least one day in advance of the test.

Annual Hamfest - The AARC partners with the Amateur Radio Council of Arizona (ARCA) to host the April Hamfest at DeVry each year in the DeVry University parking lot located at 2149 W Dunlap Avenue in Phoenix, AZ. There are usually about 55 vendors in attendance selling new and used radio equipment and electronics of interest to ham radio operators. The event starts at 7:00 AM (or earlier) and lasts until around 11:00 AM. For more details, click on the Hamfest link on the left. Pictures of previous years's hamfests can be found in the Photo Gallery (see link at left of page).
